BJ Papa & Friends in the Early 1980s

I just got around to scanning a small collection of old photos of jazz pianist BJ Papa (taken when he was still playing saxophone) that had been requested by the North Beach Historical Preservation Society as part of BJ's oral history transcript.

The photos were taken in the early 1980s at "A Sunday On the Green," sponsored by Jazz Action Movement (founded in 1982 by composer, pianist and vibist Buddy Montgomery) and the Dooley Foundation.

One of the photos includes a very young Allen Smith. Please let us know if you can identify the other musicians in these photos or have more information about this event (you can click on any image to view a larger version).
