The
folks at San Jose Jazz kick off their 21st annual "Sunday Series" of afternoon jazz concerts on
January 18 with jazz and blues singer Kim Nalley. The
series continues through March 22.
Also
appearing at this year's concert series, hosted at The
Improv nightclub on 2nd Street in downtown San Jose, are Jesus
Diaz and the Latin Jazz All Stars; composer, producer,
and keyboard legend Jeff Lorber (performing with
the 19-piece West Valley Jazz Orchestra); Brazilian
vocalist Claudia Villela; the Amina Figarova
Sextet; four-time Grammy-nominated saxophonist David
Sanchez; and Wayne Wallace and John Worley
(co-hosting a Miles Davis tribute).
